You’ve survived your first year! Your sophomore year is a great time to branch out and find projects and career opportunities that inspire you. Here in the BYU College of Engineering, we have numerous ways for you to find what you love and to prepare you for a successful future.

Research

Effective Problem Solving
Research doesn’t need to begin as a grad student. You as a sophomore can start now! Get hands-on experience in your field of study by visiting your department website or talking to a professor.

Clubs

Lots of students are looking for ways to get involved and get to know other students in their major. Luckily, the college of engineering has dozens of clubs designed to help you make new friends, better the community, and learn more about your areas of interest. Returned Missionaries

Weidman Center for Global Leadership

Your class schedule is just the beginning of your education. Adding engineering experiences out of the classroom will help you develop your skills and build your confidence. Also, as a sophomore, you are eligible to start the BYU Engineering Leadership Certificate. This new program will encourage and prepare you to make a real impact by developing your personal leadership ability. Check out opportunities here!
