Dr. McLain joined the BYU faculty in 1995. He received Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Mechanical Engineering from BYU (’86 and '87) and earned his PhD in Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University (’95). Dr. McLain’s research has focused on guidance, dynamics, control, and autonomy of unmanned aircraft systems (UAS)
Of Dr. McLain, Dean Michael Jensen said, "Tim has an outstanding record as a faculty member and as an administrator, and he is well prepared for this role. I am excited to have him on our team.”
