The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) has announced that BYU would be among the 32 colleges and universities receiving funding from the Nuclear Energy University Program (NEUP). BYU is nationally recognized for nuclear energy research, so this isn't the first award students and faculty have received in the field of study. Earlier this year, a team of BYU Chemical Engineering professors received another $800k grant to continue research in clean energy with molten salt reactors.
