Richard is currently the Vice President of Infusion Therapy Systems / Site Leader for Becton, Dickinson & Company (BD), located in Sandy, Utah. The site is home to about 1,000 associates in manufacturing, marketing, R&D, and other supporting functions.
He has global responsibility for the Infusion Therapy Business, which is a significant portion of the $2.3 billion Medical Surgical Unit. This business includes products such as peripheral IV catheters, IV sets, connectors, and surgical scrub brushes.
He joined BD close to 20 years ago through the Manufacturing Development Program (MDP). He has progressive leadership experience in manufacturing engineering, operations management, and commercial roles where he has established a track record of building and leading high performance teams who deliver strong results. His assignments have brought him and his family to locations across the United States and one assignment in Asia. His experiences range from managing start up operations, shutdown operations; products early in their lifecycles to products late in their lifecycles; and turnaround situations.
Richard holds a Bachelor of Science in Manufacturing Engineering from Brigham Young University and a MBA from Duke University-Fuqua School of Business. His wife Karen and he have three children.
