Aurora Taylor-Rojas currently serves as Vice President of Engineering for L3 Technologies Broadband Communications Sector. Ms. Taylor-Rojas oversees 1000+ engineers of all engineering disciplines and is responsible for technical architectures, system solutions, and technical program execution.
Prior to her current role, Ms. Taylor-Rojas held the position of Director of Systems Engineering for five years supporting various business segments, as well as extensive technical support to the business area leads and business development.
Earlier in her career, Ms. Taylor-Rojas was the Director of the Hardware Development team. During this time, the hardware development department comprised of upwards of 430 employees with multiple engineering disciplines. These disciplines included radio frequency design, antenna design, mechanical engineering, waveform development, network modeling and simulation, modem and baseband hardware design, and printed circuit board expertise.
Ms. Taylor-Rojas started her career with L3 Technologies in 1994 through the L3 internship program. After graduation, she began her career as an RF and modem designer for wideband communication systems. Ms. Taylor-Rojas worked directly with internal and external customers validating critical designs and system-level integrations. In 2004, she managed and led the Advanced Modem and Waveform Development group. This advanced technologies group is known throughout the defense industry for their expertise in advanced algorithm design, modem design, FPGA/ASIC development, and system-level analysis.
She holds both Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees in Electrical Engineering from the University of Utah. During her senior year as an undergraduate, she served as the President of IEEE University chapter. Ms. Taylor-Rojas most recently completed the Executive Leadership Program from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. She is currently serving as the Chair for the University of Utah Electrical and Computer Engineering External Advisory Board.
