Mark Sefcik graduated from BYU's mechanical engineering program with both bachelor's and master's degrees in 1990. He also graduated with an MBA from Harvard University in 1997. Mark’s entire career has been spent in global engineering companies that manufacture products such as specialty valves, pumps, compressors, and hydraulic tools. He has been engaged in various industries, including infrastructure, industrial, automotive, mining, energy, and construction equipment.

Mark has worked in over thirty countries during the span of his career, working for publicly-owned, family-owned, and private-equity-owned companies. He has held various roles with these businesses, including engineer, project manager, general manager, president, COO, and CEO. He has also served on various for-profit and non-profit boards of directors.

Mark lives in Denver, Colorado with his wife, Darcy. They have five children who have all attended BYU, as well as six grandchildren. He is currently the Chief Operations Officer at Sundyne, a Warburg Pincus-owned portfolio company which manufactures precision-engineered pumps and compressors for use in many types of energy markets.
