College Lecture - Jenny Pate: Choosing “And”: Balancing Life Equations and Inequalities

Thursday, February 08
11:00 AM - 11:50 AM
JSB Auditorium

Jenny Pate graduated from the mechanical engineering program at BYU in 2011. Soon after graduation she moved to Houston, Texas to begin a her career with ExxonMobil. In her 13 years with the company she has worked primarily in the natural gas space. This has included a range of roles across LNG plant design, natural gas logistics, natural gas trading, and project management. Her roles have taken her around the world, working with teams in Australia, Hong Kong, India, Doha, London, and Budapest. Her current role is in the ExxonMobil Global Trading organization, where she is growing ExxonMobil’s capabilities in the US natural gas market.

Throughout her career, she has invested in BYU through recruiting efforts, career and resume coaching, and participating in the Mechanical Engineering Advisory Committee. Jenny would like you to know that the new Engineering Building is an incredible upgrade to the basement of the Clyde Building and the abandoned corner of the now-demolished Fletcher Building where she spent all of her time completing her degree and doing undergraduate research.

Jenny loves her many hobbies and building a life with her husband (fellow mechanical engineer Kyle Smith) and their two young sons.
