We had summer camps, competitions, global service and more! Here are some highlights!
|
|
|
BYU Global Engineering Outreach started our summer by traveling to South America and meeting with project partners in Bolivia, Perú and Ecuador. Engineering students, along with several other disciplines, developed prosthetic liners, identified sources of discomfort for patients in wheelchairs, and more!
|
|
In our first competition of the summer, BYU Wind Energy took 1st place at the Collegiate Wind Competition in Boulder, Colorado! They competed alongside top universities from across the country in a collaborative and exciting atmosphere. Read an article about it here!

As engineers, overcoming issues is a huge part of innovation. Watch this video to see how the BYU Mars Rover team did it in order to bring home a 1st place finish for the team!

|
With great ambition and new goals, our BYU Rocketry team competed with their first-ever supersonic rocket and a 30,000-foot launch attempt. While the rocket unexpectedly failed, it still soared higher and faster than any previous BYU rocket. Check out this video to see what the Experimental High Powered Rocketry team is doing alongside the competition team to take this obstacle and turn it into a stepping stone.

Traveling out to California, the BYU ASCE team competed with schools from around the world at the 2025 ASCE Civil Engineering Student Championships! The UESI Surveying and Concrete Canoe teams qualified, and BYU took 5th place for Best Final Product. Check out our post to see some of the highlights from this competition!

BYU Free Wellness Coaching: Did you know that BYU Student Wellness offers free, one-on-one wellness coaching for both students and employees? Trained student coaches can help you set goals and stay accountable in these areas: social strategies, stress management, physical wellness, nutritional wellness, and intuitive eating. Learn more about how this resource can help you and get involved here. BYU Student Wellness is eager to help any who want to benefit from wellness coaching.

BYU Community Legal Clinic: Run by law professors and law students at the BYU Law School, Thursdays from 5-7pm. Walk-ins welcome, but recommended to email ahead for an appointment. The Clinic mainly helps with immigration issues but is willing to hear about any legal issue and may refer you to other organizations or attorneys if the Clinic cannot help.

Financial Well-being: As the semester chugs on, you may have questions about your financial future. Whether wrestling with immediate concerns or long-term planning, BYU Enrollment Services has many resources for you, including a new series of articles on financial fitness with topics ranging from grocery shopping habits to managing your credit, understanding interest, protecting personal property, etc. Find the articles and other resources at financialplan.byu.edu, where you can also make an appointment for personalized financial information and guidance.

Student Leadership WCSL Grants
Applications are open now! The Weidman Center offers funding in these grants for select students who find or design high-quality, student-led engineering experiences that develop problem-solving, teamwork, and communication skills.
